May we take this opportunity to wish our wonderful customers and suppliers a very Merry Christmas! Thank you so much for your support during this difficult year.
Reflections on 2020
At Hitherbest we are extremely proud that the company was able to maintain production throughout 2020, providing our customers with a continuous supply of quality fabrications, in the most challenging of circumstances. Our committed workforce has shown real professionalism in the way they have quickly adapted to new working practices, in order to keep work flowing through the factory and each other safe. We thank each and every one of them for their efforts.
While the entire country is still wrestling with the effects of the coronavirus pandemic, from an economic perspective we can see reasons for cautious optimism. The final quarter of 2020 has proved to be extremely busy for Hitherbest, with November seeing the highest number of requests for quotation of the year so far. The West Midlands is the industrial powerhouse of the UK and the manufacturing sector in our region is proving resilient.
Looking ahead to 2021
Coronavirus aside, it seems likely that there will be challenges in our industry in early 2021. The global supply of steel and other materials cannot currently keep pace with demand, with prices rising steeply over recent months. We believe that metal prices will continue to fluctuate significantly through the beginning of next year. Moreover, with the end of the transition period only days away, British industry is still waiting to hear if there will be a trade deal with the EU and when it is likely to be implemented.
At Hitherbest we are not immune to these pressures but, as ever, we will work with our partners to ensure that we continue to provide the very best fabrication service we can, underpinned by outstanding customer care. We look forward to working with you.
