The opportunity to celebrate this fantastic local engineering pedigree is just one of the reasons why, earlier this month, Hitherbest joined the industry association Made in the Midlands, having welcomed Regional Membership Manager Iwona Sobolwenska on a visit to its Heath Hill factory.
Made in the Midlands brings together local manufacturers
Made in the Midlands supports local manufacturing organisations, from SMEs to OEMs, helping them to connect, forge mutually-beneficial partnerships, share best practice and collectively lobby for policies that will support the manufacturing sector. It was formed 10 years ago in response to the challenges faced by UK manufacturing in the wake of the 2009 credit crunch and now has in excess of 500 member organisations.
At Hitherbest we are now looking forward to reaping the benefit of Made in the Midlands membership – not least the opportunity to showcase our fabrication capabilities at next year’s Made in the Midlands Expo, which will be held at Coventry’s Ricoh Arena.
Showcasing what Hitherbest has to offer
Over the last 12 months, capital expenditure at Hitherbest has exceeded £375,000, with the company investing in new equipment and energy-saving improvements to its premises, amongst other initiatives. Hitherbest Director Dr. Nicky Evans said “We are delighted to become a member of the Made in the Midland family. Membership gives us access to a platform through which we can engage with other growing businesses who, like us, are committed to investing in the local economy and using it as a springboard to bring their products and services to the rest of the UK and beyond. We look forward to forming new and fruitful partnerships with these organisations, and to showcasing more of what Hitherbest has to offer.”
