Sheet Metal Bending & Folding
Hitherbest provides a sheet metal bending & rolling service, as part of its package of metal fabrication solutions. Speak to our team today!
We excel at sheet metal bending and rolling.
Precision Bending
Bending is an essential step in the fabrication of most sheet metal products and, as you would expect, at Hitherbest we specialise in this process.
From the technically-demanding step-bending of column casings, through to the V-bending of sheet metal enclosures, our highly skilled press brake operatives have it covered.
We have a suite containing 3 state-of-the-art Amada press brakes, each offering:
- 7 CNC axes enabling the precision bending of cut parts
- A large working envelope allowing us to bend sheets of metal up to 4 metres in length, with a capacity of 1700kN (170 tonnes)
- an extensive range of tooling enabling us to produce even the most complex fabrications.
Consistent roll bending results
Hitherbest also has the capability to produce large rolled fabrications, such as conveyor systems, using our 2 Baileigh hydraulic roll bending machines.
These machines are the modern day work-horses of manufacturing, delivering consistent results over a life that can span decades.
We have a member of staff who specialises in rolling sheet metal and pipework, so you can be confident that our rolled fabrications will have the quality our customers have come to expect from Hitherbest.
Getting it right from the first bend
Getting a bend right first time saves you cost and lead time, which is why our operatives work closely with you at the design stage. We check tolerances, bend allowances and material behaviour before production starts, catching potential issues early. The result is fabrications that fit and function exactly as intended.
Whether you need a single prototype or a repeat production run, our press brake and roll bending capacity means we can scale to match your requirements. We work with mild steel, stainless steel and aluminium across a wide range of thicknesses, supplying sectors from agricultural and architectural through to OEM manufacturing.

Frequently Asked Questions
It varies! The maximum thickness of metal that we can bend varies from fabrication to fabrication – depending on the material to be formed (mild steel, stainless steel or aluminium), the angle of the bend and the length and tonnage of the press.
We suggest you contact our sales manager, Adam, who will be happy to review your design and discuss your options.
No, we don’t, but our press brake operators are highly skilled and their work is remarkably consistent.
There are many factors to consider. In addition to the material, thickness and bend radius, the location of holes and overall complexity of the fabrication will determine the suitability. This is why at Hitherbest we offer customers a design for manufacture service. Working in partnership with our customers we ensure that their fabrications are optimised for economic production, whilst remaining functional and true to their original design.
