Laser Sheet Metal Cutting

Hitherbest provides precision laser sheet metal cutting, for high-speed and accurate metalwork solutions tailored to meet your needs.

We use laser cutting to create fabrications with complex geometries

High performance and flexible laser cutting equipment

At Hitherbest we use an Amada Quattro 2.5kW laser. This machine is ideally suited to fabrications with complex geometries, in addition to mid-volume production runs and prototyping.

The Quattro features:

  • A flying-optic laser cutting head, with a positioning accuracy of ± 0.01mm.
  • a 1.25 x 1.25m bed
  • 3 accessible sides, enabling larger worksheets to be accommodated by manual repositioning.

Fabrication tailored to your product and your needs

Whilst for many products sheet metal punching is a faster and more cost-effective method of fabrication, laser cutting is ideal for creating fabrications with complex, curved or irregular edges and cut-outs.

We have over 35 years’ experience in sheet metal fabrication so are ideally placed to offer advice on how to optimise your product for manufacturing, including whether punching or laser cutting would represent the best route to fabrication.

As we offer both services, you can have confidence that our advice is impartial and based on an honest assessment of your needs. It is just one of the reasons why our customers rate us so highly for customer service.

Precision cutting for every application

Our laser cutting service supports everything from single prototypes to mid-volume production runs, with fast turnaround times that keep your project on schedule. Every sheet is cut to exact specification, giving you clean edges and consistent results batch after batch. We work closely with your team to get the details right first time.

We supply laser cut components to sectors including agricultural, architectural, electrical and OEM manufacturing, adapting our process to suit each application. Our team can advise on material selection, sheet thickness and design tweaks that improve cutting efficiency and reduce cost. Whatever the complexity of your fabrication, we’ve likely tackled something similar before.

The Quattro will cut mild steel up to 12mm thick, stainless steel up to 5mm thick and aluminium up to 4mm thick.

The Quattro is a CO2 laser, making it ideal for cutting thicker metal. Typically,
lasers also produce a cleaner cut than their fibre equivalents.
